Even though Kate got to it before me, I'm still going to post my summer mix tonight. These are the songs that I like to listen to during the summer months. They're kind of all over the board because my taste is only decent when I'm depressed, so now we whip out the Hannah Montana. (JK, there is no Hannah on this mix.) There is however, country music on here. And one song from a musical, but it's Hair so it sounds like regular hippie music. So... idk, deal. There's bound to be something each of you like on here, I guess. A lot of this is just so attached to my childhood. So who knows, this could go over terribly. BUT WHATEVER, JUST FUCKING DEAL.

So to recap, we have: country, rap, ~rock (both old and new), and Colin Hay talking about making his own tea. just check it out, it's all over the place, but all of it is feel-good music. Except for maybe one. But okay, let's shut up now.

Two Things.

I gotta tell you all, I'm in a bizarre place right now. In some way, I feel really happy, because I'm getting busy, and I have shit to do a lot of the time. But anyway. This is split up into 2 parts. It makes sense to me, but I don't know if that'll really come through... OH WELL, enjoy the music that's gotten me through the hellish last couple of weeks.

So here's that French music post I said I'd make and you all seemed excited... or something. haha.

Basically, I love all the French music I listen to, because it appeals to me in some way that music with English music misses. I think it's because I can't immediately listen to a song and then go "OH WELL THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO MY LIFE RIGHT NOW." and then toss it to the side. Which I sometimes do, because I am just. that. self-centered. (SIDE NOTE: I wish I weren't like this, really. But it's something that I've come to accept. I guess I spend so much time analyzing myself because I feel like I can't truly understand anyone else until I understand ~myself.~ Or something as equally stupid. haha.) But anyway, these songs tend to mean a lot to me in certain ways, and who knows why. Maybe French is still magic to me, because I listen to how it sounds before I comprehend. I feel like French is a movie star who I really think is beautiful and wonderful, and English is my grandma who's slightly crazy but the most fantastic person I know. SO. YES. THAT HELPED THIS POST ALONG.

Well, this took me FOREVER, AND IT'S NOW 6 AM and I still have to upload stuff. But basically, I want you guys to comment if you take anything, because I actually put a lot into this, and let's face it, I'm needy. To be honest, you could probably pimp this to any of your friends you think would be interested, because I want people here to know about these guys (ESPECIALLY EMILY.) here in America. Plus, there's a great amount of music out there that nobody hears of, just because it's in a different language. And Americans are afraid of that.

If you want more of anybody, just tell me! :D :D

(ONE LAST THING: I apologize that I didn't include Edith Piaf and Serge Gainsbourg and Henri Salvador etc etc. I feel like it's just easier to get into them, because they're all historical, and famous here as well (maybe not Henri Salvador, but okay... close enough, just look into Jazz, and you'll find him.) so I figured I'd go with more contemporary stuff. Maybe later I'll do a post with them and earlier French music, but for now, this post is long enough! Hm! I have plenty more, but I thought I could just focus on my favorites. Plus, I haven't had the chance to get attached to the new music I got this year, although there is some major potential going on. So yes, perhaps in a few months, this'll happen again. If I think anybody cares, that is.)

In what other medium can that one chick in your chem class tell you that she most definitely thinks you should "neva" change, and you should call her sometime over the summer to "chill"? Okay, so I have this journal that I never wrote in or anything, and it's just been sitting on my desk for ages now. Angela and I got into a discussion about quotes, and it kind of sparked an idea. I love quotes, but I lose them a lot of times, because I don't have a collection. At first I was just going to make a post with all of them, but then I thought about all the great things I hear that aren't written on the internet. To make a long story short, I looked over at the old journal, and decided to make that my official quotes collection. So, there we are. Now here's where you come in.

What are some of yourfavorite quotes? They can be funny, insightful, sad, touching, mean, cynical, optimistic, or anything under the sun. They can be by someone famous, or someone in your own life, or even by you. They can even be music lyrics, or from a tv show. Just give me a quote or two to add to my collection.

Also, I'd really appreciate if you told your friends about this. You don't have to or anything, of course, but it would be really nice.
